Horticulture Code of Conduct review
Minister for Agriculture, the Hon. Barnaby Joyce, and Minister Billson have initiated a review of the Horticulture Code, which regulates trade in horticultural produce between Australia’s fresh fruit and vegetable growers and traders.
The independent review will provide advice on how the code can be improved to balance the needs of growers with those of traders. The review will prepare a draft issues paper, and after receiving stakeholder feedback, will provide a report and make recommendations for the Australian Government to consider.
Stakeholders are invited to provide feedback and comment on the issues paper along with any issues they may have with the current code. All submissions to the review will be posted on this website unless an author specifically requests otherwise.
Feedback and comments are sought on the issues outlined in the issues paper that affect the rights and obligations of growers and traders operating under the Trade Practices (Horticulture Code of Conduct) Regulations 2006 (the Horticulture Code).
Feedback and comments received will inform Mr Napper and Mr Wein, who are conducting the review on an independent basis and will report to government with their findings and recommendations.
Submissions close on 18 September 2015 at 5:00pm.
While submissions may be lodged electronically or by post, electronic lodgement is preferred. For accessibility reasons, please email responses in a Word or RTF format. You are welcome to submit an additional PDF attachment.
